Legitimate general contractors (also known as GCs) are always licensed by the state the work is performed in. Using an unlicensed GC is illegal in most states and can negate insurance claims and your property resale value. Therefore, you should never use someone that is not state licensed. In Georgia, you may verify any contractor license with the Georgia Secretary of State. |
