| What is a state licensed contractor? |
|
A company, such as ours, holding a license from the State of Georgia Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors. Under state law, you are required to use only state licensed general contractors and some types of specialty contractors. This is for your safety and protection. Always make sure the contractor is licensed to perform the type of work that you need. For example, a licensed electrician cannot do plumbing work. A legitimate contractor will have a valid state issued license to perform work. You should physically see the license and check the license number with the state. A contractor can be thrown in jail for performing work without a license. You may also be in jeopardy of criminal charges. At the very least, you may be fined and you may be unable to sue for your money back. |
